Setelah tak jadi bermain di film biopik Ferrari, kini Christian Bale telah menemukan proyek film terbarunya. Berkolaborasi lagi dengan Scott Cooper, Bale akan membintangi film berjudul Hostiles. Dalam film yang ber-setting tahun 1892 ini, Scott Cooper akan bertindak sebagai penulis dan juga sutradara. Dilansir dari Variety, berikut adalah sinopsis dari proyek film terbaru Christian Bale dan Scott Cooper yang berjudul Hostiles.
“Set in 1892, “Hostiles” tells the story of a legendary Army captain, who after stern resistance, begrudgingly agrees to escort a dying Cheyenne war chief and his family back to tribal lands. Making the harrowing and perilous journey from an isolated Army outpost in New Mexico to the grasslands of Montana, the former rivals encounter a young widow whose family was murdered on the plains. Together, they must join forces to overcome the punishing landscape and hostile Comanche tribes that they encounter along the way.”
Sebelumnya, Cooper berniat untuk mengajak Johnny Depp untuk membintangi film ini. Mereka berdua terakhir kali bekerja sama dalam film Black Mass yang dirilis pada tahun 2015 lalu. Namun melihat Bale yang sedang ‘available’, Cooper pun lantas mengajak partnernya dalam film Out of Furnace ini sebagai pemeran utama Hostiles.
