20th Century Fox dan AMC Theatres telah merilis sebuah promo untuk film The Predator yang menghadirkan adegan-adegan behind the scenes bersama-sama dengan sutradara, penulis naskah dan para pemeran dalam film ini. Dengan caption “Bigger, Better, and Badder”, promo ini seakan menjanjikan sebuah film yang sarat adegan aksi dengan berbagai elemen kejutannya.
Film yang sudah dipastikan akan mengusung rating R ini disutradarai oleh Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Lethal Weapon) dan dibintangi oleh Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Keegan-Michael Key (Keanu, Key & Peele), Thomas Jane (The Punisher), Jacob Tremblay (Room), Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), Sterling K. Brown (The People vs. O.J. Simpson, This is Us) dan Edward James Olmos (Battlestar Galactica, Blade Runner).

Inilah sinopsis The Predator:
“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
Detail mengenai proyek film memang belum banyak diketahui, demikian pula tentang status film ini apakah merupakan sebuah reboot, sekuel ataupun prekuel. Namun Black menjanjikan sebuah film yang sangat berbeda dan akan sangat menghibur serta akan berbeda dengan film-film terdahulunya. Sutradara ini sudah mengembangkan naskah film ini bersama rekannya tersebut sejak tahun 2014 yang lalu setelah sekian lama mencoba membangkitkan lagi franchise Predator ini.
The Predator direncanakan untuk rilis pada tanggal 14 September 2018.
