Persaingan menuju Emmy Awards 2026 resmi dimulai. Television Academy akhirnya mengumumkan daftar lengkap nominasi untuk ajang penghargaan televisi paling bergengsi tersebut, dan hasilnya menghadirkan sejumlah kejutan. The Pitt tampil sebagai serial drama dengan nominasi terbanyak, sementara Hacks mencetak rekor baru di kategori komedi.
Pengumuman nominasi Emmy ke-78 dipandu oleh bintang The Bear, Liza Colón-Zayas dan Jeff Hiller, bersama Chair Television Academy, Cris Abrego.
Di kategori drama, The Pitt memimpin dengan 25 nominasi, mengungguli sejumlah serial populer seperti The Diplomat, Slow Horses, Paradise, hingga A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Sementara itu, Hacks berhasil meraih 24 nominasi, sekaligus mencetak rekor sebagai serial komedi dengan nominasi terbanyak dalam satu tahun.
Serial Widow’s Bay dari Apple TV+ menyusul dengan 19 nominasi, sedangkan Pluribus mengamankan 18 nominasi. Emmy tahun ini juga menjadi momen spesial karena menghadirkan 28 aktor dan aktris yang memperoleh nominasi untuk pertama kalinya.
