Daftar lengkap nominasi untuk ajang Academy Awards tahunan ke-94 yang akan datang secara resmi telah diumumkan pagi ini oleh duo pembawa acara Tracee Ellis Ross dan Leslie Jordan melalui streaming langsung global. Seperti kita ketahui setiap tahun, acara tersebut mengakui beberapa nama terbaik di industri dengan nominasi yang diberikan kepada penampilan terkuat yang pernah dilihat dalam film. Puncak ajang tersebut akan ditayangkan pada tanggal 27 Maret ini.
Tahun ini telah mengubah banyak tradisi dan harapan untuk Academy Awards, dari Flee yang dinominasikan dalam tiga kategori berbeda, sutradara Jepang yang dinominasikan untuk Sutradara Terbaik, hingga The Power of the Dog yang memimpin dengan 12 nominasi, sementara Dune juga mendapat 10 nominasi yang mengesankan, suatu prestasi yang langka untuk ukuran film blockbuster. Sedangkan West Side Story karya Steven Spielberg, dan Belfast karya Kenneth Branagh sama-sama meraih tujuh nominasi termasuk Best Picture and Best Director.
Banyak penggemar Marvel berharap Spider-Man: No Way Home akan mendapatkan perhatiannya di Oscar. Keberhasilan film itu tidak dapat disangkal, dengan pujian universal dari para kritikus dan penggemar di samping keuntungan box office yang sangat besar. Film ini memang kemudian mendapatkan nominasi untuk Efek Visual Terbaik.
